Cat Ba National park Cat Ba National park was established in 1983 under the government’s decision. It is situated on Cat Ba island, about 20 km to the East of Cat Ba Town, covering an area of 15,200 ha including 9,800 ha of forests, 4,200 ha of sea and hundreds of hectares of virgin forests. The park is mostly composed of limestone mountains with marvelous caves and grottoes. This preservative area of tropical virgin forests has a wide range of plants with 745 species, 495 offshoots and 149 families. Cat Ba National park is also home to 28 species of rare mammals, 37 species of birds and 20 reptiles. |
